Got to Love Toddlers
So this afternoon when Makay was eating lunch Logan decided that he needed to eat the waffle that I was feeding Makay instead of letting him have it. I looked over just in time to see Logan shove the whole thing in his mouth I said "Logan that's the baby's lunch you already ate" he pulled the huge piece out of his mouth handed it to me, saliva and everything, and said "your welcome mommy." What could I do but start laughing, at least he used his manners right. lol The day is always full of surprises when you have small children at home.

A Matching Match Christmas
After a fun morning of opening presents with the boys Dave's parents stopped by to deliver their presents for us, and receive their presents from us. As you can tell I love to have things match, the boys are wearing their new p.j.'s that they received on Christmas Eve, Dave and I are wearing our p.j. pants that we got a few years ago, and G-ma and G-pa are wearing their matching sweatshirts that we made for them with a picture of the boys. In the picture on the sweatshirts the boys are also so matching with their homemade shirts from G-pa with a certain score on them 48-24, anybody know what it's for???? I think have a sickness, an obsession with everybody matching, oh well they are only little once so I have to do it while I can.
Aside from the matching it was a super fun morning to watch Logan open his presents and hear a high pitched "Lighting McQueen" when he open the trailer he got, and 2 lighting McQueen cars. And when he came running into the living room and we asked him what Santa brought him he said, "I don't see him, he's not here." Logan's excitement for Christmas has really brought out the Christmas spirit in Dave and I, it has been a great Holiday season, and I look forward to many, many, more.
I wish you all a wonderfully happy new year!

Christmas Card Problems
Well normally getting my Christmas cards done is not a problem, and normally Costco does a really good job. However, this year that has not been the case, hence the reason none of you have received our Christmas card yet. Just in case you want to know the whole story I'm going to tell you, and because I need vent, so here it is.
Apparently at Costco there are two different colored machines, and with out any signs indicating that there is a difference in the machine I am supposed to know this. Well we used the blue machine (instead of the black one) that prints folded Christmas cards and you only get 20 for $14.99. Well we thought we were getting 50 postcard style cards for the same price. We found this out after we had to wait three days to get our cards even though we picked 1-hour. I guess their machine was not working correctly. I was hoping to have the cards in the mail by Saturday, obviously that didn't happen since it's Monday night. Dave ended up picking up the pictures today when I was at the gym so I didn't hear the story until I got home and it was too late to go back. Needless to say I'm going to take the pictures back tomorrow and let them know that I am dissatisfied with this service, get my money back and then figure out what I am going to do about Christmas cards.
Hopefully everybody will get our card sometime before the New Year! O.K. I'm done.
On a completely different note, I just watched The Polar Express with Logan and Dave, it was so awesome, I almost cried. Having your own kids and wanting them to believe in Santa and the whole Christmas spirit really brings it out in yourself. It has been so fun buying stuff for Logan this year, He is so cute trying to sing the words to Christmas songs, and saying "Santa says, 'ho,ho,ho'" and various other phrases. Having my own family has truly brought the joy back into Christmas for me. I love my family, and the Christmas season.

Happy Holidays
Now that Thanksgiving has past we can officially start celebrating Christmas. I am anti Christmas before Thanksgiving has past, so I was boycotting Christmas music on the radio or even thinking about putting up any of my decorations. So tonight for family home evening (FHE) we are going to put up Christams decorations. I am very excited for many reasons, the first being that since we have had Logan I don't think we have ever had FHE mostly because if Dave ever had a night off from work we were going to make the most of it by going and hanging out with friends. The second reason is because it's always fun to have your house festive for the holidays. Third, I think Logan will be pretty excited to help put up the tree and other decorations.
As a little side note I wish I could have put some pictures up with this post of the fun I had with my sister, her boyfriend, and my niece over Thanksgiving but we are having trouble putting pictures on our computer from the camera. Hopefully we will fix that soon. Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays to all. I will expect Christmas cards from all of you, that is an important part of our Christams derocrations.

Lessons Learned
Some of you may know that in May Dave started looking for a new job, he wasn't sure if he wanted to stay in the hotel industry or go back to banking. Now for a little history Dave worked for Zions Bank for about 6 yrs. until he finished school in 2006 his degree is in Parks, Recreation and Tourism with an emphasis in hotel management. He was excited about this new field and all the new experiences he would have, so he got a job in Park City at the Marriott. It was really fun and there are a lot of perks working for a hotel, and not to mention the famous people you see in Park City. However after over 2 yrs. of being at the hotel we were disappointed in the opportunities to move up in the company, so we felt like we were coming to a cross roads, that's where the looking for a new job came in. As I finished up teaching in May Dave decided to look for a new job in both fields he looked in hotels and in banking, he wasn't company specific he was open to anything really. We were very excited and thought that he would find something soon. Currently Dave works nights which can be fun sometimes, he gets to spend a lot of time with the boys, and in the summer we would go swimming and have picnics, it was great. However, there are some down sides, nights also include weekend nights so we didn't get to hang out with friends as much as we wanted, or go on any date nights. As well as nights hotels are also open on Holidays, so those were often hard to get off. As the time went on I was getting tired of the single parent gig, so I was very emotionally ready for Dave to get a new job, and so was he. Unfortunately the more anxious we got the worse it got, things were not going well, not only were there not very many openings, but even the ones that were available were not going our way. We tried to stay positive, but it wears on you after a while.
Finally, after many months of things not working out and after a very inspired talk in sacrement meeting we decided it was time to take a break from looking and to just be happy with what we have at the moment. We have a lot to be thankful for and to be happy about; we have two beautiful boys that are cute and hilarious to name a couple of their characteristics, we have a a cute house, a wonderful marriage, the knowledge of the the true and everlasting gospel that guides us everyday, we have fantastic family members that help us out, and great friends to laugh and have fun with. We realized that the Lord had already blessed us with so many things and we needed to be aware of those blessings before we started asking for more. Along with testing our faith we never know why some of our prayers don't get answered with a yes, and we forget that no, or not now, or not that is still an answer, it just might not be the one we want to hear. It is so hard to not know, but then down the road something else happens and it all becomes clear why those previous requests were not granted the way we would have them. The Lord knows what is best for us, and knows what the future will hold, the part that is at times unbearable is the waiting, I've never been a very patient person.
You might be wondering where this is all going, and I suppose I have rambled on long enough. It turns out that as soon as we decided to stop looking for jobs and be happy with the things that we did have, a job finds us, out of the blue. Josie, who Dave used to work with at Zions Bank just got promoted to Branch Manager at the same branch they worked at years ago. She is in need of a Customer Service Manager (CSM) and gave Dave a call to see if he was interested. He thought about it and decided to go in for the interview, he was excited, but had been let down so many times before, he tried not to get too anxious. After a couple of interviews Dave was offered the position and is ecstatic to be returning to the banking industry. We feel like this is the reason that all the others didn't work out, we know that Lord had this in store for us and we just needed to be humble and patient enough to receive it. There will be many new challenges and opportunities that are in store for Dave and our family.
Thanks for listening I know it was long.

Brothers at Play
Today when I was doing some cleaning the boys were playing together in Logan's room, well in the same room but not really playing together. It was so cute I had to take a few pictures. Makay is always following his brother around and trying to keep up with, I can only image how crazy it will be once he starts walking!!
Here's Logan hamming' it up on the camera,
I wonder who he gets that from?
Makay always wondering what's going on.
Makay on the move.
I feel so blessed to have two beautiful boys that love to play and that love each other. What a wonderful life I am blessed with.

Batman and Robin
Halloween 2008 was so fun this year, first because Dave didn't have to work so I didn't have to do the single parent thing for this festive holiday. As you can see from the pictures Logan was Batman and Makay was Robin. Logan was having a great time wearing his Batman costume and mask (which was the best part) and Makay didn't really know what was going on, but he was good to let us cart him around trick-or-treating. My favorite part was listening to Logan say trick-or-treat in his cute little voice.
Since I was determined to have the boys wear their costumes more then once we went to many activities, perhaps to many. Although I think I over scheduled a little bit this gave us a great opportunity to hang out with some friends that we haven't seen in a long time. Thanks for all the fun everyone. I figured this might be the last year that I could pick what Logan got to wear so I thought I would have the costumes be related, and if anyone knows me they know I love for the boys to match, I realize they don't have to match every time. I hope very body had a safe and happy Halloween.

Pumpkin Patch Memories
We saw a wonderful pumpkin patch off of 90th south and decided we needed to go and take some pictures of the boys, and a few of us. How could I resist.
It was certainly interesting to try to get a three year old to stop and take a picture, and to have your 10 month old to look at the same time. It was a great Saturday activity.

Utah Utes
In honor of the still undefeated season the Utes are holding on to and the failed quest that the Cougars are now looking at I thought I would change our background color to more suitably fit the team we love! Although we know many BYU "fans" that attended and graduated from the U they still can't see the light of the right school to cheer for, it is so sad. My question to all you BYU "fans" is why in the world would you go to the school that you so passionately hate? If you were true fans you would have attended the school that you pay homage to. I mean honestly do you think that a University of North Carolina fan would ever go to Duke, or vice-versa. I think it's utterly ridiculous that you even attempt to cheer for a school that none of you went to!
