Tulips and Cute Boys!

I wanted to take pictures of my tulips, so I couldn't resist the opportunity to make my kids match and try to get some cute pictures. Makay didn't try to escape, but he also didn't really smile, oh well.

Update on Dave

I thought I would give everyone an update on how Dave's arm is doing and added a couple of cute pictures of the boys. Well it's been two weeks since Dave dislocated his elbow and things are going well. He had a doctors appointment last Monday and after a long conversation with the doc. he decided to not have surgery. It didn't seem like surgery would a necessity. So he took some more x-rays and gave him a hard cast that is cut on both sides so he can take it off to shower and do some exercises. He had another doctors appointment yesterday and the doc is pleased with the progress. He said everything looks good, and has given him some more exercises to do.

Although it has been super fun to have a husband with one arm, and as much as I would love to keep it that way, ha! I am excited about the progress he is making. Thank you to everyone who has sent there good thoughts our way.

Anyway, here's some pictures of the boys enjoying some ice cream when we where at dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Richards.

Not such a good night at basketball...

I pretty much copied this from what I just wrote on FB so sorry for those who are reading it twice.

Hey all, last night when Dave was playing basketball he dislocated his left elbow. He jumped up to block a shot, and the other person ended up underneath him, so he rolled off and land on his wrist with his arm fully extended. Right away he knew something was wrong because it was popped out of joint. Right then his brother Steve took him to the hospital to get it put back in place, and make sure there was no other damage. After being at the ER for 6 hrs. he finally got home with it put back in place with a soft splint on and a sling. However, the x-rays at the ER showed that he has broken of a piece of the head of the radius. So with that news we went to see Dr. Hillyard this morning. He was very informative and gave us lots of options and things to think about. He also took some more x-rays to see the the position of the joint just 12 hours later. He was pleased with how the relocation looked with a little ligament stretch on one side of the radial head. The x-ray was also to check the status of that break in the radial head. It is pretty detached from the bone, which is not the best news. The best case scenario would be to not have to have surgery and that the piece will reattach it's self. We are taking the weekend to relax think about what we want to do, and hope that when he goes in on Monday for more x-rays things will look favorably.

Please keep Dave in your thoughts and prayers for a non-surgical recovery.

Easter Fun

We started our Easter weekend by dying eggs Friday night. Logan thought it was super fun, we all had a chance to release our inner creativity. This was our first year dying eggs, it didn't disappoint.

On Saturday we enjoyed a breakfast and Easter egg hunt, Logan definitely cleaned up!

Makay on the other hand didn't really get it, he just sat and watched, oh well.

Sunday morning it was "Easter time" as Logan was saying that morning. His favorite part of the basket was the candy!

Makay just enjoyed taking everything out of the basket, he didn't really care what was in it.

We topped our Easter weekend off with my first ever bunny cake, I was super pleased with how it came out. I think this will become a new Easter tradition.

They're Big Boys Now...

On Thursday Logan decided he wanted to wear big boy underwear. So I thought o.k. here we go. I explained to him that he couldn't go pee in his underwear, and that he had to tell me when the pee was coming and we would run and sit on the potty. So I kept asking him if he was dry, and he would reply with a yes and a big smile!

Eventually he came running to me and said "the pee is coming", so we ran to the potty and sat down, with a little help from drinking juice he peed into the potty. I was so proud of him!!! And he hopped up bursting with pride. It has continued like this over the weekend, even using potty's at other people's houses. Hopefully we are in for the long haul, yesterday he only had one accident, so it seems like he's got it together. Yippy!!!!

Thursday was a busy day, Makay also decided to start walking all over the house. even though he had already take his "first step", he was now able to walk for longer periods of time, turn around, and bend down to pick things up. It was such an exciting day!

How can you resist a picture of a bare baby butt.

My boys are growing up so fast, I'm so excited for the adventures this summer will bring.
