I want a road bike
Just some random thoughts for all of you. As most of you know I have a done a couple of triathlons and I love them. I think they are so fun and they give me something to work out for. Well the triathlon (tri) season is upon us and I want to join with full force, the only problem is I don't have a road bike. I did my first tri. with my mountain bike, boy did that suck, then I did the other with my friend Kristen's road bike. What a difference a bike makes. The delemia now is to buy or not to buy? Tomorrow Canyon Bicycles is having their huge, annual sale, and last season bikes are getting sold for a good price. Well a good price for a road bike is $1000, roughly. However, last year my friend got her's $700 normally $ 1400. I know this is a lot of money for a bike, but I look at it as an investment. Tri's are something I am going to do for a long time so if I buy a good bike and keep it in good condition it will last me a long time. My problem is the frugal part of me pipes in and says, are you crazy that's way to much money. Then the competitive health nut says, what's more important then your health. Any suggesstions on what to do??? I need help!

If you are going to use it often enough, even to go biking as a family, then I would totally get one!
I say do it.
REASON NUMERO UNO: You are totally all over the triathlon scene. You wouldn't wear the wrong kind of shoes to go running, would you? Why should you ride the wrong bike?
REASON NUMERO DOS: Treat yourself. How often do parents sacrifice for their kids. I think that occasionally we should make that purchase that helps us feel good about ourselves.
Sweet! Now that you're going to buy the bike... when you win a race you can thank me for my A W E S O M E advice in helping you get there.
I know I'm a few days late on this one... sorry. Anyways, I say DO IT! As long as I've known you, you have talked about doing Tri's. I'm impressed you made the dream come true. Now just complete the dream. You know it will get good use and you know that it will motivate you even more. Good luck with the decision!
Thanks everyone, I decided to go ahead and do it, and I'm super excited to start training. I got a great deal, I'm just excited to be totally invested in the races now, and be able to do as many or as few as I want because now I have everything I need. I really appreciate all the positive thoughts. Thanks again.
There are amazing deals on craigslist and ksl.com, have you checked them out? You can get an almost new bike for a killer deal. But you also deserve something new too. Good for you Shawna!
